Holes 1 & 10

Holes 1 & 10

  • Men - 384m, Par 4, Index 1 and 2
  • Ladies - 384m, Par 5, Index 9 (Hole 1)
  • Ladies - 332m, Par 4, Index 2 (Hole 10)
A challenging hole. A slight dogleg left with out of bounds on the right, and a row of trees on the left hand side of the fairway. A high bank on the right hand side of the fairway makes the landing zone reasonably tight.

A good drive will leave you a mid to long iron into a green 21 metres wide and 13 metres deep protected by a deep bunker in the front left of the green. A bank at the rear of the green makes for longer rather than shorter approaches the best option. There is a water hazard some 50 metres short and left of the green.

Mens Tip: A well-placed drive is the key to making par here.

Ladies Tip Hole 1: After a good drive, it's probably better to position your 2nd shot as a layup shot short of the water which then gives you a short iron to the green.

Ladies Tip Hole 10: A good drive is required to the right hand side of the fairway to have any chance of getting your second shot onto the green.
Holes 2 & 11

Holes 2 & 11

Hole 2
Men - 329 metres, Par 4, Index 10
Ladies - 319 metres, Par 4, Index 5

Hole 11
Men - 350 metres, Par 4, Index 7
Ladies - 256 metres, Par 4, Index 11

This hole has a slight dogleg right and hole 11 is straight with water on the right hand side of the fairway. The fairway is generously wide and a good drive will only leave you with a short to mid iron into a green 17 metres wide and 13 metres deep, with bunkers on the right and left of the green.

A bank at the rear of the green encourages approach shorts to be longer rather than shorter.

Mens Tip: A drive of 200 to 220 metres in the centre of the fairway sets up par and birdie chances here.

Ladies Tip Hole 2: A good drive down the centre/right of this fairway is required to give you a chance of reaching this green in regulation.

Ladies Tip Hole 11: Easily reached in 2 with a solid drive to the centre/right of the fairway.
Holes 3 & 12

Holes 3 & 12

  • Men – 315 metres, Par 4, Index 8 & 9
  • Ladies – 276 metres, Par 4, Index 6 (Hole 3)
  • Ladies – 295 metres, Par 4, Index 4 (Hole 12)
A dog leg left from an elevated tee with a water hazard approximately 120 metres from the tee across the fairway and then circumnavigating the bottom and right hand side of the fairway together with a row of trees on the left hand side of the fairway complicated by out of bounds from the water hazard to approximately 35 metres from the left hand side of the green, makes cutting the corner a risky option. and provides a challenge from the tee.

With a sharp dogleg left 100 metres from the green, placement of your tee shot important. A drive of 200 metres will put you in the box seat here, for a short iron into a green 19 metres wide and 13 metres deep with a bunker on the right hand side of the green. An out of bounds perimeter fence is 10 metres at the back of the green.

Mens Tip: Don’t go left from the tee here, it’s fraught with danger.

Ladies Tip Hole 3: A well placed drive to the right of the trees on the corner of this fairway will give you a clearer shot to the green.

Ladies Tip Hole 12: A good drive is require past the trees on the corner of the fairway to give you any chance of reaching this green in 2.
Holes 4 & 14

Holes 4 & 14

Hole 4
  • Men - 160 metres, Par 3, Index 6
  • Ladies – 106 metres, Par 3, Index 13
Hole 13
  • Men - 179 metres, Par 3, Index 3
  • Ladies – 106 metres, Par 3, Index 12
The shape of the green makes these holes difficult to par, particularly when playing the 13th. A water hazard across the fairway approximately 24 metres from the green adds to the problems with this hole. The green is 28 metre wide and 8 metre deep with a very deep bunker 10 metres from the front of the green, and a steep bank at the rear. The placement of the pin plays a major part in the final outcome.

Mens Tip: Club selection. If in doubt be long rather than short.

Ladies Tip Hole: A short hole but with a bank behind the green it rewards a shot that is longer rather than shorter of the green.
Holes 5 & 14

Holes 5 & 14

Hole 5
  • Men - 146 metres, Par 3, Index 13
  • Ladies – 130 metres, Par 3, Index 8
Hole 14
  • Men – 154 metres, Par 3, Index 12
  • Ladies – 130 metres, Par 3, Index 7
A tricky par 3 with a water hazard across the fairway some 20 metres from the green and continuing along the left hand side of the green for another 30 metres. The green is 23 metres long and 9 metres wide with bunkers at the front left and rear left of the green. A high bank to the right of the green offers the higher handicap players an “out”.

Mens and Ladies Tip: Don’t go left, water and bunkers await. If in doubt bail out right.
Hole 6 & 15

Hole 6 & 15

  • Men – 357 metres, Par 4, Index 5 & 4
  • Ladies – 351 metres, Par 4, Index 1 (Hole 6)
  • Ladies – 298 metres, Par 4, Index 10 (Hole 15)
Probably one of the hardest holes on the course, with out of bounds along the entire right hand side of the fairway and trees on the left. The fairway is fairly wide but a good tee shot is required to allow a clear approach shot into an odd shaped green 25 metres long and 5 metres wide at the narrowest and 12 metres wide at the widest points, sloping from back to front.

There is a green side bunker in the front right and a hazard over the back of the green (approx. 20 metres but all downhill so any shot over or through the green is likely to be lost)

Mens Tip: A well placed long drive centre/left of the fairway is a must here to achieve par.

Ladies Tip Hole 6: The hardest hole on the course for the Ladies. A good drive is required to the centre/left of the fairway. If unable to reach this green in 2, a layup shot to the left hand side of the fairway will give you a short chip to the green and take the green side bunker out of play.

Ladies Tip Hole 15: A tee shot down the left hand side of the fairway will open up the green for your second shot. If unable to reach this green in 2, see tip for hole 6.
Hole 7 & 16

Hole 7 & 16

  • Men – 221 Metres, Par 4, Index 17 & 18
  • Ladies – 172 metres, Par 3, Index 3 (Hole 7)
  • Ladies – 205 metres, Par 4, Index 18 (Hole 16)
A straight short par 4 that causes problems for golfers that “go for it” and don’t hit it straight. The green is 22 metres long and 11 metres wide protected by green side bunkers in the front right and middle right, A fairway bunker 22 metres in the front of the green will catch anything short. Trees on the left and right also will cause problems for wayward shots. With any approach shot having to come into the green from the left, likely to finish up in the right hand side green side bunker.

Mens Tip: Play it as a par 4, a well-placed tee shot of 170 – 175 metres straight, leave a short pitch to a fairly friendly green. Straight from the tee is the key.

Ladies Tip Hole 7: At 172 metres this is a tough par 3. If unable to make the green with your tee shot, a layup shot to the centre/left of the fairway & short of the fairway bunker will facilitate an easier second shot to the green and take the greenside bunkers out of play.

Ladies Tip Hole 16: A short par 4 requiring a tee shot down the left hand side of the fairway short of the fairway bunker to give you a better angle to the green for your second shot.
Hole 8 & 17

Hole 8 & 17

  • Men - 120 Metres, Par 3, Index 15 and 16
  • Ladies – 117 metres, Par 3, Index 17 and 16
A simple short par 3 to a large green 21 metres deep and 11 metres wide with bunkers in the front left and middle left. A water hazard across the fairway 65 metres short of the green does not really come into play here. However a long shot can be risky with out of bounds some 10 metres through the back of the green. A generously wide fairway with out of bounds on the far right.

Mens and Ladies Tip: Play for the middle/right of the green, to avoid the green side bunkers in the front and on the left for a satisfactory outcome.
Hole 9 & 18

Hole 9 & 18

Hole 9
  • Men - 301 metres, Par 4, Index 14
  • Ladies – 220 metres, Par 4, Index 15
Hole 18
  • Men - 301 metres, Par 4, Index 11
  • Ladies – 220 metres, Par 4, Index 14
A good finishing hole, with out of bounds along the entire right hand side of the fairway where a water hazard 140 metres from the front of the tee crosses the fairway and continues up the left hand side of the fairway. You need to be able to hit your tee shot at least 170 metres from the back tee to carry this hazard. There are 3 large bunkers on the right hand side of the fairway. One at 210 metres from the tee and the other two at 215 metres. A large tree on the right hand side of the bridge will catch any shortish wayward shot to the right.

The landing zone to the left of the bunkers, at 200 metres is fairly tight, being 25 metres wide. A line of trees on the right hand side of the fairway also make approach shots difficult if your tee shot wanders into this line. The green is 28 metres wide and 10 metres deep with 2 grass bunkers at the rear of the green and sand bunkers in the front right and left hand side of the green to penalise short or long shots.

Mens Tip: Don't go left or right!! A well-placed drive in the middle of the fairway, on the top of the hill (approx. 100 metres out) sets you up for a short iron into a narrow green.

Ladies Tip: A good drive to the centre left of the fairway, to avoid the fairway bunkers on the right, opens up this green for your second shot to avoid the front right bunker.
